Amba Pawankhind Special (2026)

Ride route: Karad – Amba Ghat – Karad

Description:

A unique ride along the extremely scenic, lush green region of Amba ghat and a visit to the historically popular 'Pawankhind'.

We check in at a hotel at Karad on Friday evening, spend the night and start cycling towards Amba early Saturday morning. We encounter a few tough climbs before we reach our resort at Amba but the roads are very smooth and the region is extremely scenic. It is comparable to any idyllic scene in a foreign land. We cross a few windmills before we make the descent to Amba village where we will check in at a resort for lunch on Saturday.

After a veg, light lunch we will be heading out to Pawankhind, in Jeep safaris (6 people in each jeep). This is an experience in itself. We cross the dense jungle enroute which is famous for its Bison sighting. That animal sighting is an unforgettable sight which will stay in your memory for a long time. After a visit to the historically popular, Baji Prabhu Deshpande fame, 'Pawankhind', we will make our way back to the resort to be greeted by a lovely dinner (choice of veg/non veg).

An early wake up call in the morning and after a quick morning tea, we will make our way towards Karad on our cycles, aiming to reach Karad by noon.

One way distance from Karad to Amba is around 75kms with ghat sections along the way thus making it a ride of almost 6 hours with photo stops, regroup stops, etc. (total ride distance approx. 150 kms both ways)

This particular region faces heavy monsoons. So, no doubt that the natural beauty will be at its peak but we may also face prolonged monsoons. So, it is advised to be well prepared for cycling in heavy rains.

We will be travelling in our cars with cycles on racks or in the cars till Karad and same way back to Pune post the ride. Parking facility for cars at Karad will be arranged. It is advised to car pool as much as possible.

We will be a group of 18 cyclists max. Please book your seats at the earliest!
