DAY 01: Dbyk, Bavdhan meet up 0600 am (to load luggage in the support vehicle) _ Ramnagar_HEMRL_Highway _ Balewadi_Regroup 01 at Dehu road phata on old highway_ Talegaon toll plaza_Wadgaon_Kamshet_ Regroup 02_turn left at Kamshet towards Baur Ghat_ Bedse caves road_ Pawana Dam view point Regroup 03_ Tikona base _ Campsite _Total distance: Approx 50 km

DAY 02: Leave Campsite at 0800 am _Left at Tikona base_ Road towards Paud_ Kolvan_Girivan_ Turn left at paud Village bust stop_ Mulshi road _ Ghotawade_ Pirangut_ Bhugaon_Bavdhan. Approx 50 kms.

Description:

The Edition 03 of yet another of our signature events, La Luna Piena. A unique combination of Cycling, Camping and Hiking is what this event offers.

It’s an approximately 100 kms moderate paced ride, spread over 2 days with 1 overnight camping facility. We will be riding at a leisurely pace on Day 01 to the campsite with a couple of stops for regroups, photo ops and a light breakfast with the occasional tea break!! The terrain is predominantly rolling with 1 major climb at Pawana almost at the end of Day 01 ride. Day 01 ride is approximately 50 kms from Bavdhan to the Campsite. Hot lunch shall welcome you at the Campsite where you can unwind after a tiring ride. After a short period of rest, we hike up on foot to the nearby Tikona fort. Once back to the campsite after climbing down Tikona, you can freshen up, pitch your own tents till dinner is being served. A campfire/ karaoke session if the enthusiasm is still there can end the night well!!! Camping under the moonlit sky after a tiring day is an unforgettable experience!!!

We wake up early to the sounds of the birds , freshen up and wrap up the tents. A light breakfast shall be served at the campsite and then we make our way back to the city by a different route as mentioned above thus completing a sort of loop of around 100 kms. We aim to reach Bavdhan by noon. So, we will encourage fewer fun stops.

We will be encountering a highway ride, and a couple of serious climbs at Pawana and Pirangut on the way back. Alertness about traffic and ability to tackle climbs needs to be taken care of by participants on their own. Since the participants will be registering for this event on their own free will, team Speaking wheels will not be responsible in case of any unfortunate mishap/ accident. The road conditions might be moderate or bad at some places due to road works. The overall terrain will be predominantly rolling , so even though we encourage ‘ beginner cyclists ‘ to register for this event, the whole ride is a tough challenge. The overall group speed of the batch will depend on the average speed of the registered members.

 Participants will have to be careful while riding these patches. It is recommended to carry sunscreen/ arm sleeves etc. for the later part of the journey which will be in sunny conditions. Also, it will be cold when we start the ride and at the campsite. So warm clothing is also recommended.

A support vehicle will be all along the ride which will be carrying the overnight luggage of the participants.

Please carry spare tubes, a personal puncture repair kit, at least 2 liters of water, some snacks like biscuits and/ or dry fruits for energy and some glucose powder/ tablets. The support/ backup vehicle along with us will carry some water refill system and some energy snacks or fruits.

We will be a group of 25 cyclists max. So please book your seats at the earliest!

Note: This is a cycling + hiking + camping event. Staying facilities will be basic but with clean toilet facilities at the campsite. This is not a family event so we will not encourage participants to call their families to drive along with them to the campsite. This will be exclusively for Speaking Wheels cycling members on cycles. The fees paid for the event are nonrefundable since bookings are already done at location and other logistics are also planned. In case due to some unforeseen event, Speaking Wheels cancels the event, part refund or full refund will be applicable as per the situation. Kindly carry your masks and hand sanitizers. Maintain safe distance and safety precautions as per the Covid Protocols.
